Today in Leadership:

Parent notification through email: As a way to improve communication home to parents we have been using a web based email called ConstantContact. At the start of each school year we asked parents to provide us with updated email addresses. We have created listserves by grade-level and have been sending notices and information directly home via email. If you are a parent that has not received any emails from Salem High School and would like to, please contact Jamie Arnfield or Melissa Bussard at 893 7069 extension 104 to provide an up-to-date email address.

PIAM: Many parents are already aware and have been accessing the Parent Information Access Module (PIAM) to view student information like their child’s attendance and grades. If you have not been able to sign-in please contact Judy Sholik for assistance at 893 7069 extension 320.

Grade Quick: The use of Grade Quick as a grade book by all teachers was planned for this year. The reason for this requirement is provide student information in PIAM (Parent information access module), which is now on-line and comes directly from Grade Quick. Our plan is to enhance parent access to include student grades in an effort to help parents become more informed partners in their child’s education. If you are still having trouble using Grade Quick please let your director know so that we may plan additional training sessions with Ryan Mahoney.

Report Cards: We discussed the need to use grade verification sheets in our grade reporting process. Mrs. Collyer will inform teachers how the additional step will be implemented. We are instituting this step to ensure the integrity of our data.
